As a maximalist garden designer, Jac says it’s always about getting as many plants as she can. A cheap and easy way to do this is by propagation – which also allows you to clone really important plants in your garden.

Jac uses the same mix whether she’s growing seed, taking cuttings or dividing existing plants. She uses a good quality propagation mix that is both free draining and can hold moisture. She mixes this with coarse sand for even more drainage. In wetter months she mixes them 1:1, but in drier months she uses half the sand and half good-quality coconut coir mix.
