The biggest mistake people make when planting their citrus trees (and many other plants as well) is they put them in way too big of a pot! I know, you want to skip steps and put your plants into big giant pots so that they can grow into them over time, but this is a big mistake that could cause very limited growth as well as negatively affecting the health of your plant! By planting your citrus tree in a giant pot the top soil will dry out too quickly, the bottom of the soil will stay too wet and your plant will be using all of its energy to try and fill the pot with its roots to get down to where the water is sitting at the bottom of the pot. Because of this, it will not focus on growing the actual plant trunk/stems/leaves and you could stunt your plants growth for years! Kathy shows you in this quick garden hack video the proper pot size for your citrus tree to avoid these problems. Follow for more gardening tips!
